Due to this issue it had an extremely hard time getting through the 2 respective gauntlets in this game: Fiore mansion gauntlet and Glass factory gauntlet. This is mainly a moveset problem as there are hardly and Flying spread moves. Think of stuff like Fletchling, Gligar, Taillow The problem with this typing is the lack of options for double battles. This strategy obviously only works on Pokemon that take damage from sand. I always ran this strategy with Sandstorm up so that at the end of the turn the opposing Pokemon would faint. Due to Shell bell recovery Aron would fully recover back to max health reactivating Sturdy. Aron would then move next with Endeavor also putting the enemy Pokemon at 1 HP. In practice what would happen is the opposing Pokemon would easily oneshot Aron, but due to Sturdy it would survive. Aron and Shieldon are definitely the 2 mons that come to mind when I think about this run as they both get Sturdy and Metal burst allowing them to 1v1 basically anything.Īron also had a pretty funny strategy it ran towards the end of the game: Lvl 1 Sturdy Endeavor Shell bell. Although the amount of available mons was very small they were very strong. Iirc it had 9 total mons 1 of which was Beldum which unfortunately only gets Take down which practically makes it useless. Unlike the rest it had a extremely small pool of Pokemon. Overall I would say this was the second most difficult out of the 4 types I have now completed. Around 2 months ago (I think) I decided to pick it back up. It was however dropped by me at some point due to lack of interest. The Steel type was actually started a very long time ago, back in maybe June of last year. The current list of types that I have completed is as follows: Steel, Flying, Fire, Water. This limits the choice of Pokemon to ones that are of the right typing, and can evolve but have not evolved at all. The ruleset is actually quite simple: You pick a type just as you do with a regular Monotype run, except you only get to use first stage evolutions. You may find youself asking what a Little cup Monotype run is, so I'll explain. They have basically been the only runs I've been doing.
